چکیده
Abstract Background Surgical site infection is a clinically significant postoperative complication and major cost burden of healthcare-associated infections. Although many studies compare minimally invasive surgery open surgery, few have focused on surgical infection. This study aimed to investigate the differences in incidence after robotic-assisted gastrectomy patients with gastric cancer. Methods We retrospectively reviewed adult cancer who underwent at 2,400-bed tertiary hospital Seoul from January 2015 December 2015. Postoperative outcomes, including between gastrectomy, were compared. Risk factors analyzed by logistic regression multivariable analysis. Results A total 684 patients, 448 236 enrolled. The median age was 58 years. overall 7.6%. significantly lower group than (9.2% vs. 4.7%, p=0.035). length stay shorter (5 8 days, p< 0.001). Comparison of Surgical Outcomes between Robotic and Laparoscopic Gastrectomy for Gastric Cancer: The Learning Curve of Robotic Surgery
PURPOSE Laparoscopic gastrectomy is a widely accepted surgical technique. Recently, robotic gastrectomy has been developed, as an alternative minimally invasive surgical technique. This study aimed to evaluate the question of whether robotic gastrectomy is feasible and safe for the treatment of gastric cancer, due to its learning curve. MATERIALS AND METHODS We retrospectively reviewed the pr...
متن کاملComparison of surgical-site infection between open and laparoscopic appendectomy
PURPOSE An inflamed appendix can be removed either openly (open appendectomy [OA]) or laparoscopically (laparoscopic appendectomy [LA]). Surgical-site infection (SSI) is a representative healthcare-associated infection and can impose serious economic burdens on patients as well as affect morbidity and mortality rates. The aim of this study was to compare LA with OA in terms of SSI. METHODS Th...
متن کاملSurgical site infection surveillance after open gastrectomy and risk factors for surgical site infection.
Surgical site infection (SSI) surveillance was examined in gastric cancer patients who had undergone an open gastrectomy between 1997 and 2003 at Keio University Hospital in Tokyo, Japan. National Nosocomial Infections Surveillance (NNIS) reports and several studies have discussed SSI risk factors, but only open gastrectomy was analyzed by regression analysis. The purpose of this study was to e...
متن کاملComparison of Laparoscopy-Assisted Gastrectomy and Conventional Open Gastrectomy with the Same Procedure in Early Distal Gastric Cancer
Introduction: Laparoscopy-assisted gastrectomy (LAG) for early gastric cancer (EGC) was considered as a treatment with many advantages due to the application of laparoscopic equipment. The aim of this study was to compare the effect of use of laparoscopic equipment in blood loss, the number of harvested lymph nodes (HLNs), and complications between LAG and open gastrectomy (OG) for EGC. Methods...
متن کاملRobotic Gastrectomy with Lymphadenectomy for Gastric Cancer
Minimally invasive surgical approachs to early stage gastric cancer have been employed as a means to improve postoperative outcomes in patients undergoing gastrectomy for gastric cancer. However, conventional laparoscopic techniques have not gained wide acceptance due to the inherent difficulty in performing a laparoscopic gastric lymph node dissection (D2). Although laparoscopic D2 lymphadenct...
